This program describes a step-by-step, month-by-month plan for building muscle naturally and wisely. The book is very well structured and presented, with each exercise described and exemplified in depth. The author put emphasis on extreme workouts followed by adequate rest periods as the most effective formula for developing muscle. After a number of months of initial training, the author provides a general idea of his Max Contraction System intended to powerfully work the muscle at ultimate contraction for maximum benefit.
I am now into fourth month of training, following this book to the letter. In the 1st three months I gained ten pounds which is great for me (I tried bodybuilding 1-2 times in the past for quite a few months and never had such improvement, and I am 26 by now), but it is a little less than assured by the author.

The most fascinating for me was guide to different training practices – you change your practice routine each month. This means you become familiar with several ways to train your muscles and also you are not fed up repeating same practice month after month. It is also escape from box-thinking i.e. split routine which everyone knows (and most of the people know only that).The whole design is amazing. Each exercise is very openly described and has outstanding illustrations (of both the start and finish position).

This book covers steroid use in the bodybuilding world – which many rookies don’t understand and set unrealistic goals (then result in giving up).For someone new to working out, some of the practices will certainly start them off well, and they should see outcomes – but I also think some practices are very advanced. The “Max Contraction System” was exciting.
The weakness is definitely info about diet for bodybuilders. If you want to read thoroughly about food and eating you should find another book. This book has been a phenomenal assistance in developing a simple workout routine that shapes and defines muscle tone even in an older person. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a novice at bodybuilding. If you are older, then train with lighter weights and more repetitions to avoid injury. On the whole, if you are really want to build muscles, I think this book is a great read for you and, most important, applying in practice.
