Beware, this review may contain spoilers if you have not read Volume 1 of the Red Queen saga! 🙂
Steel Scars is a short story about the Red Queen saga in which Farley is honored. I was very excited to discover it because Farley is really a strong character of this saga.
The narrative traces part of his life before being really in contact with Mare and all that follows.
I read this news from Red Queen after reading Glass Sword and even though it was released before the second volume I found it more enjoyable to read it afterwards. Indeed, in this narrative, we meet at the same time as Farley characters who appear in the second volume. It allowed me to put them back and tell me “ah but yes, it was that in Glass Sword”. I think that, unfortunately, if I met them at the same time as Farley, I would not have paid enough attention to them, and perhaps I would have been lost by finding them in Glass Sword. This second volume, one accepts very well the fact that Farley knows them and not since we are following Mare and that she either does not know them!)
It all starts when Farley is with the Colonel, just before she goes on a solo mission for the first time. (If you have not read Glass Sword, it is normal that you do not know the Colonel, do not panic!)
